Personal calligraphy that touches the heart.

Most art is created from the artist’s perspective — a one-way expression of vision.
My work begins somewhere else.

I create calligraphy that grows from the personal story of the person in front of me.
Their name, its sound, its meaning, their presence — and my hands meet in the act of creation.
What is born is not just my artwork, but something we create together.

In a world overflowing with mass-produced things, I choose to create what belongs to one person only.
Not something made for everyone, but something made for you.
I believe that is what truly moves the heart.

I write names because a name is one of the most precious things we carry through life.
Through names, I feel connected to people across cultures, languages, and borders.
This is why I continue — and why I want to expand this work,
so these personal moments of connection can reach further into the world.

 

心に触れるパーソナルなアート作品を

多くのアート作品は、アーティストの視点や表現が強く反映された、一方向的なものだと感じています。
私の作品は、そこから少し異なる場所から始まります。

私が大切にしているのは、その人自身のパーソナルな側面に寄り添うこと。
名前の音や意味、その人が纏う空気感。
それらと私の手が出会い、共に生まれるのが、私の書道作品です。
それは私一人の作品ではなく、あなたと私の間に生まれる創作物だと思っています。

大量生産された、誰にでも同じものが溢れる今の世界で、私は「みんなのためのもの」ではなく、たった一人のための表現を生み出したい。
それこそが、確かに人の心を動かすと信じているからです。

誰にとっても大切な「名前」を書くことは、私にとって、世界中の人々とつながるための行為でもあります。
この活動を続け、広げていきたいのは、その小さくて深い心のつながりを、もっと遠くまで届けたいからです。

 

Shoko (梢光 / Shōkō)

Shoko first encountered calligraphy at a young age, when she accompanied her older sister to a calligraphy class. She began formal training at the age of ten and studied under two calligraphy masters over the course of fourteen years.

In high school, she was a member of the calligraphy club, where she worked across a wide range of styles, including Kaisho, Gyōsho, Sōsho, and Reisho. At nineteen, she obtained a Kanji Calligraphy Master’s License from the Japan Shūji Education Foundation (Public Interest Incorporated Foundation).

From her student years, she has been deeply engaged with various forms of expression, including music, film, novels, theater, and musicals, nurturing her artistic sensibility. She is also an avid traveler and has visited 27 countries to date, accumulating deeply moving experiences through encounters with diverse cultures, histories, landscapes, and people.

She finds joy and a profound sense of fulfillment in connecting with people from around the world.

In March 2025, she began offering custom calligraphy services for international audiences. From June to August, she stayed in New Zealand, where she held calligraphy workshops and participated in local markets.
In February 2026, she returned to New Zealand to present her first solo exhibition.
Her custom calligraphy service, “KANJI Name Art™,” was met with great acclaim.

Since launching her practice, she has written the names of many people from countries across the globe.

Through the act of writing names—something precious to everyone—she seeks to connect with people beyond borders and cultures. Guided by this belief, she aims to further expand and share her work with the world.

梢光 (しょうこう) / Shoko

幼い頃、姉が通っていた書道教室についていったことをきっかけに書道と出会う。
その後10歳から本格的に書道を学び始め、14年間にわたり二人の書道家に師事。

高校では書道部に所属し、楷書・行書・草書・隷書など、多様な書体による作品制作に取り組む。19歳の時に、公益財団法人 日本習字教育財団の漢字部師範免許を取得。

学生時代から音楽、映画、小説、舞台、ミュージカルなど幅広い表現に親しみ、感性を育む。
また旅を愛し、これまでに27か国を訪問。各地の文化や歴史、美しい風景、人々との出会いを通して、心を動かされる体験を重ねてきた。

世界中の人々とつながることに、喜びと深い楽しさを見出している。

2025年3月より、外国人向けのカスタムカリグラフィーサービスを開始。
6月から8月にかけてはニュージーランドに滞在し、書道ワークショップの開催やローカルマーケットへの出店を行った。
2026年2月に再びニュージーランドへ渡航。初の個展を開催し、カスタムカリグラフィーサービス「KANJI Name Art™」は大好評のうちに幕を閉じた。

活動開始以来、多くの世界中の人々の名前を書いた。

誰にとっても大切な「名前」を書くことを通して、国や文化を越えて人とつながりたい。
その想いから、この活動をさらに広げていくことを目指している。
